Originally from Seattle, WA, I am a junior Biomedical Engineering student at Tulane University. This field of study excites me because I am interested in using engineering applications to help people who are sick. As a part of Dr. Khismatullin's biomedical acoustics lab, I research the potential regenerative effects of ultrasound on spinal cord axons. The purpose of this research is to determine the possibility of therapeutic ultrasound for spinal cord injuries. I culture E18 Rat Cortex neurons and study the effects of ultrasound treatment on the length and density of neurons. I am excited for the future of this project and for my senior thesis.

At Tulane, I am active in the Society of Women Engineers as the outreach officer. I believe that it is important to use my educational privilege to be a positive influence in the community. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, running, photography, and hiking. I also enjoy travel and I spent the fall semester studying engineering abroad in Dublin, Ireland.
