Millicent M. Beard

I am from Houston, Texas, and I am currently a junior studying Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University. The research I am a part of is centered on acoustic tweezing rheometry, specifically a newly developed method for analyzing blood coagulation, known as Acoustic Tweezing Thromboelastometry. This method implements the use of an acoustic field to counteract the gravitational forces on a droplet thus causing the droplet to levitate. My research focuses on the coagulation analysis of pediatric patients with hemophilia, using quasi-static acoustic tweezing.

In my free time I enjoy working out, doing yoga, and hanging out with my friends. I also enjoy traveling, as most of my family lives in England, and I spent a semester studying at University College London last year.
