Welcome to Russian 203 (third semester Russian).

Here is the syllabus.

I have an outline of the material of Nachalo, Book One, Chapters Six-Seven, Book Two, chapters Eight-Twelve. Outline is here.

Here is a very nice compact Aid to Grammar in 120 pages, with a detailed table of contents. It comes in three parts, and you can use it frequently in the course to check grammatical paradigms and explanations. If you find any errors, please point them out to me.

Aid, Part 1 pp. 1-32

Aid, Part II pp. 34-72

Aid, Part III pp. 72-120

I have a blog for all Russian students at http://russlangcourses09-10.blogspot.com.

For Wednesday, 26 Aug and Friday 28 Aug: I have placed here a file from 102 (the dates refer to a past year) with assignments and grammatical helps for Lesson 7.1, Nachalo, Book One. If you have the workbook for Book One, you can write these for submission. Here's the file:

See Blog for some info on Friday 28 Aug.

We'll be working on 7.1 for a week or so. Please print out the file above and bring to class!

Completion of work for 7.1 31 Aug

Beginning of 7.2. This is my Old File for 7.2 with old dates

Continuation and updating of 7.2 beginning Weds 2 Sep

We had a productive class Friday, Sept 4. From this day I will present my weekly assignments in single packages, all remade. Be sure and check to see what I have in mind; we will be skipping portions of the lessons, inserting readings and my own grammar from the aids files, and so on.

What have we learned so far? Aspect, P and I, past, present and future. We have memorized the vocab in the Old File above, so we can present many good examples; we know that P conjugation = future; that time–spanning adverbs are associated with I; that activities are I.

I is an aquarium, P a breaking-forth into a new state of being.

Thank you for your patience!
