Courses Taught by Dr. Miller at Tulane University

BMEN 6340: Soft Tissue Mechanics.

This course provides an introduction to the various approaches used in modeling soft tissues, with particular attention paid to those of the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal (e.g., ligament, tendon), and reproductive systems (cervix, vagina). Particular emphasis will be placed on the theoretical and experimental consequences of the large deformation behavior of these tissues.

BMEN 3440: Biofluid Mechanics.

This course focuses on the fundamental concepts and properties of fluid mechanics with applications to the body. Topics covered include the basic equations of fluid statics, dynamics, and mass transport in differential and integral form using both system and control volume approaches. Advanced applications are investigated using the finite element method.
