Carter Stevens First communion, ca. 1926 I love this picture of my mother, Virginia Louise CROWL (m. 1st STEVENS, m. 2nd WALKER). All her life she kept that expression. She was a little devil according to my aunt -- hardly the look of a 6-yr old making her first communion! She was living in Champagne, Illinois at this time.

"Pani" Kolb Flower girl, 1947 My grandmother Elizabeth Lehr McQueen (Mrs. Edward) was a wonderful seamstress and made many of my dresses when I was a child. Here I am curtseying in my flower girl dress for a New Orleans wedding of one of my mother's cousins, the Saunders's, in the Summer of 1947. I remember that as I went down the aisle I forgot to scatter the petals, so I ran all the way to the back of the church and started over again. I'm sure the bride would like to forget that part of the ceremony. Wedding, Karen and Frank McLaughlin, 1993 ...a wedding picture of Frank's and mine with our families and some friends on the steps of the Congregational Church in Galesburg, Illinois where we were wed now ten years ago on May 29, 1993 (astonishing!).
