| Doretha's house is located in the Lower Ninth Ward, but she is currently living in an apartment on Carrollton. No work has been done
on Doretha's house since the local ACORN (Association of Community Organizations
For Reform Now) chapter gutted it. Doretha and her daughter, Wanda, are unsure
of where to begin. The two were feeling overwhelmed by the scope of work ahead
of them when their electrician ran off with their money. They were able to track
him down and finish wiring the house but were unsure of where to go from there.
In order to make the project seem less overwhelming SAFER volunteers will be
hanging insulation and drywall before handing the project off to a reliable
contractor.
