Plan a Trip
Organize a Group...
We welcome volunteer groups of all types ranging from 5-20 members. Generally we host college groups on alternative breaks, but any group is encouraged to come help. We find that the most successful trips are those coordinated through the alternative breaks program or community service office at your school, so you might start there. Groups of friends who come on their own also tend to have a great experience.
Pick a Week...
SAFER works to schedule a different group every week year round. Please visit our calendar to see when we still need help. If we have an opening for a week that works for your group, please email safer@tulane.edu to save the dates and begin coordinating.
Transportation, Housing, Food
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer transportation to New Orleans or around the city once you are here. It is important that your group lines up its own transportation. Passenger vans are recommended.

SAFER does not currently have its own volunteer housing location however we are able to help secure housing for all groups that come to work with us. Accomodations range from $5 to $25/night, which depends on availability at the various housing sites that safer teams up with. Depending on your group size, dates, and preferences, we will work with you to ensure that you get the housing accomodations that suit your needs best.
